Award Winning Film Shot Entirely by Mobile Phone July 13, 2009
Staff at Beach & Bay get very excited about new developments in social media. As a business we are focused on increasing our presence in the online community and are often looking out for interesting clips and ideas to share.
Although this is now a year old (centuries in the digital age) it is still a beautiful idea and so I wanted to post a link.

This short film won Tropfest New York 2008 and is called “Mankind Is No Island”, by Jason Van Genderen. What is important about this film is that it was shot entirely off a mobile phone. While the footage is quite shaky the message is clear and can really draw an emotional response from the audience.
The entire film cost $57 in total which included food, petrol and small incidentals, once again social media is leveling the playing field and allowing those with great ideas but low budgets to get involved.
